The first step to the home buying process helps you understand how much you can afford.

Mortgage pre-approval helps you set realistic expectations with your home buying experience. Your choice of neighborhoods, school systems, and Town/Cities is all based upon affordability.

In today's marketplace, sellers require a Mortgage Pre-Approval to view active listings for sale in the market. In addition, it is a requirement included with any offers you submit for purchase. In essence, you cannot start the buying process without a Mortgage Pre-Approval.

What do I need for Mortgage Pre-Approval?

The steps needed to obtain a Mortgage Pre-Approval Letter are as follows:

  • Verification of Employment

  • Credit Check (You will need to meet the minimum credit score requirements for your desired loan amount)

  • Bank Statements (Your two most recent bank statements)

  • Tax Documents (W-2 and income tax returns for the past two years)

  • Down Payment

This process is swift and starts via a web link, with responses to pre-approval requests answered in as little as 24 hours.
